NCGA salutes Corps of Engineers for work on Mississippi River

Iowa is the modern land between two rivers.

Both have been troublesome this year, especially the Missouri, on our west. The Mississippi hit major flood levels from Dubuque to Davenport.

Farmers? major concern with the Mississippi River is keeping barge traffic moving and freight rates low.

The Corps of Engineers, often berated for their management of inland waterways, gets a salute from the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) for the work it does in keeping the river traffic moving.
