Farmers and environmental advocacy groups. It has never been a match made in heaven. Environmentalists seem to think everything farmers do is destroying the land. Farmers feel they’re unappreciated for doing what they can to preserve the same environment they need to grow food. However, an unlikely partnership has formed.

The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) and the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) have signed a “memorandum of understanding.” This is aimed at helping farmers optimize productivity while being environmentally responsible. NCGA’s Nathan Fields explains.

EDF’s Suzy Friedman says this partnership is aimed to help farmers and the planet.

Fields says this partnership is about conservation, not regulation.
