If you are a beef producer, you are aware of the pushback against beef by consumer activists who say it has too much saturated fat and should not be part of the diet.

The beef industry has disputed this claim – if consumers eat a moderate amount of lean product. Science is now moving in favor of beef along with consumer desire for a product called a ?superfood.?

Dr. Shalene McNeill, dietary lead for the National Cattlemen?s Beef Association (NCBA), says it is an exciting time right now for the industry to talk to consumers about beef.

McNeill says society is becoming more health conscious regarding the food they eat, but are also more open-minded about what foods can provide the nutritional benefits they seek as an individual. She spoke to Radio Oklahoma Network Farm Director Ron Hays about why there is plenty of room for beef in any healthy diet.
