Navigator CO2 Ventures partners with POET for carbon capture

We have talked in the past about the new Heartland Greenway Project that will be spanning a large chunk of the upper Midwest and has much of its operation in Iowa. Navigator CO2 Ventures LLC is leading the way on carbon disposal with this project. The project is aimed at capturing and storing carbon produced by mainly ethanol and fertilizer facilities across the region.

Yesterday, Navigator announced a partnership with POET to capture, transport, and store roughly five million tons of CO2 annually. Poet is the world?s largest producer of biofuels and a leader in sustainable biproducts. They sit right along the proposed Heartland Greenway and can benefit from the technology.

Elizabeth Burns-Thompson is the Vice President of Government & Public affairs for Navigator CO2 Ventures. She talks about what this partnership means for both companies.

Burns-Thompson talks about the cyclical relationship this project will have for the agriculture industry. It will benefit producers and end-users alike.

Many producers along the proposed route of the Heartland Greenway Project may be wondering when they will hear about proposals from Navigator over land usage agreements and payments. Burns-Thompson says that will be happening soon. There are a lot of variables at play in this stage of the project.
