A major seed innovation company combines two businesses from the past. Brent Craig is North American lead for Seed Applied Solutions at Monsanto. It?s a new functional group in Monsanto started around eight months ago.

?It?s the combination of two business units from the past. Our Acceleron seed treatment business which was focused on insecticides, fungicides, and coupled with our BioAg group. We brought those two units under one umbrella.?

Craig says there are multiple reasons for the switch.

?We?re developing solutions for seed treatment that are combining synthetic seed treatments which biologicals. We felt it made sense to put our business unit all in one place so we could focus on building the right products and providing the right opportunities for new yield improving products for growers.?

Craig says it will help with research and development, from a commercial standpoint and will be one place to go for seed applied solution needs.
