Midwest farmers could help address rising seafood demand

Name a growth sector in agriculture that could be exploited by farmers. It is aquaculture.

Right now, 90-percent of seafood consumed in the United States is imported to the tune of $14 billion.

There are several projections of how U.S. companies can cut that deficit and it might be that Iowa, home to the nation?s largest flock of chickens and herd of swine, may also utilize its bounty of grain to feed fish and other aquatic creatures as well.
