Last week?s WASDE report was expected by many to bring bearish news to the ag marketplace. Instead, the USDA made cuts to ending stocks and harvest acres for corn and soybeans and that led to some bullish price movement. In the following days we saw March corn push to two-month highs and March soybeans pushing to seven-month highs.

Bill Biedermann of AgMarket.net says that the downside risk potential in old crop corn and soybeans is limited thanks to a tight stocks situation.

The new crop picture is a different story according to Biedermann.

Bill also provides some general recommendations for new crop risk management.
