While input costs are high across the board, fertilizer prices have continued to climb. Josh Linville, Vice President ? Fertilizer with StoneX Financial, says that transporting fertilizer has not been easy.
The Mississippi river has started to move more traffic and barges in recent days. However, Linville says the river is still not transporting the same amount of goods as it normally does.
There is also the looming threat of a rail workers strike that would further complicate fertilizer shipments.
Linville says that more growers and producers have taken steps to try and build infrastructure on their farm to store fertilizer.
