Licking the Shower for Water

On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, ?If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. -John 7:37

A daily occurrence in the Flach household is our dogs (Nala & Thor) peaking their heads into the shower curtains and trying to lick up some of the water coming out of the shower head when either Harold or I, are taking a shower.

The dogs just seems like they just can’t get enough water. They need more of it. They are desperate for water, and they will do what it takes to get it. Even if that means disturbing their owners shower.

I am constantly aggravated by this, but last night God showed me a picture of himself through the reoccurring scenario. Christ is called the living water in the Bible. What if Christians thirsted after the presence of Christ as desperate as my (annoying) dogs thirst after my shower water?

As Christians who have tasted His presence we should want more of Him. So much so, that we can’t get enough. We need to be desperate for Him!

Being desperate for Him may look weird, may annoy some people, but you don’t care because you would do anything it takes just to get a drip of His love, mercy, grace, forgiveness, presence.

Friend, I’m not suggesting you start licking a shower to experience Jesus, but do whatever it takes to experience more of Him. Be completely desperate for Jesus today!

Prayer: Lord, I want to be desperate for you and your presence. Thank you for being the living water that quenches my thirst. In your name I pray, Amen.”
