Laying At My Feet

Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus? feet, and He healed them. -Matthew 15:30

One morning I was getting ready and putting my makeup on, when our lab puppy Nala (named from the Lion King) cuddled up in a ball and laid at my feet. She looked adorable and I smiled, continuing on getting ready. She moved every once in awhile to different locations in the bathroom, but she was always as close as she could possibly get to me.

The Lord spoke to me in that moment as I was putting the eye shadow on the top of my eye lid. I need to be more like Nala in the mornings. Most mornings I stumble out of bed, take the dogs outside, put in my contacts, hop in the shower, get dressed, grab leftovers from the night before for lunch, put the dogs away, and head into work.

I don’t leave much time for just sitting at the Lord’s feet. I don’t re-position myself so that I am as close to Him as I possibly could be… even if it means I have to rearrange, and change positions.

Are you making time to just be still and lay before The Lord? Are you as close to him as you possibly can be?

Friend, maybe you need to get in touch with your inner Nala and just lay at your Master’s feet today.

Prayer: “God, thank you for teaching me that you want me to position myself at your feet. I want to be found laying before you. I want to be as close to your presence, as I possibly can. Help me to do that. In your name I pray, Amen!”
