Several agricultural companies showcased products and technologies, designed to launch beef producers forward at the 2019 Cattle Industry Convention. Kent Nutrition Group (KNG) unveiled a new product, designed to support cattle throughout various life stages.

Kent Nutrition Group launched NutriVantage? Nutrition Optimizer? for beef at the 2019 National Cattlemen?s Beef Association (NCBA) Trade Show. Brandon Koch, Ph.D., beef nutritionist for Kent Nutrition Group, says the feed supplement supports cattle throughout every phase of production.

?It?s a nutrition optimizer that we?re considering as a feed supplement. It?s something you can add into your rations at every stage, phase of production for your beef animals. It helps those animals better utilize the nutrients you?re feeding them, which helps out with the overall performance of production,? Koch said.

Kent Nutrition Group sees consistent improvement in cattle consuming NutriVantage? Nutrition Optimizer?. Koch notes one improvement – intake – which drives performance.

?NutriVantage? is successful when it comes to live performance through intake modification. What we?ve seen through over ten years of research (is) up to a 10-percent increase in dry matter intake. That starts at the beginning, even with stressed sale barn calves at high risk. They get feed faster, and so we see up to a quarter pound per head, per day average daily gain,? Koch said.

Kent Nutrition Group also sees less calves being treated for illness, after feeding NutriVantage?. Koch says NutriVantage? Nutrition Optimizer? also supports immune function and growth efficiency.

?We?ve seen improvements in average daily gain and intake from the calf creep side. Even when they?re on mom?s sides, they?re benefitting from this nutrition optimizer,? Koch said. ?In the same sense – As you look at replacement heifers for cow/calf operations, you?re going to have those girls obtaining their two-thirds maturity weight to hit cycling status and prepare to catch their first calf sooner and more readily with this.?
