When I always thought about tractors, I could picture the tractors I grew up with. You had the standard four wheels. If we were talking tracks, I always think of a set of tracks on either side. So, when I first saw the John Deere 8RX tractor, my eyes widened. It looked like a traditional tractor. But instead of wheels, it had four independent tracks. I had to find out more about it.

Audio: Full interview with Aaron Ticknor of John Deere

Aaron Ticknor is with John Deere. He gives us an overview of the features on the 8RX which is brand new in 2020. The real eye-catcher is those four tracks. John Deere wanted to combine the features track users have come to expect with the handling of a traditional tractor.

Of course, the cab has also been redesigned on the 8RX. Comfort and ease of use are the most important features for the operator. After all, you?re the one that has to sit and work in there. Ticknor tells us more about the options you have there.

It also is built to use the latest in the onboard technology that John Deere offers.

There are four models available: The 310, 340, 370, and 410 horsepower. To learn more about the 8RX tractor, visit your local John Deere dealer.
