Dr. Bruce Sherer is Chairman emeritus of Informa Economics, formerly Sparks commodities. He received his Ag Econ Doctorate from Purdue and spent over 40 years in the field of economic forecasting.

He weighs in on the big mergers now taking shape in the agrichemical, seed and fertilizer industries by saying, “I believe that concentration breeds new concentration. Certainly as well documented the agriculture production sector has been intensively concentrated into fewer and fewer large hands. That is not a bad thing, that is a natural economic feature.”
