IRFA releases study of biofuel’s impact on Iowa economy

Ethanol has been getting a lot of face-time recently. We have been talking about year-round E15 and Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs). While this has been big news in agriculture, it really hits home in Iowa. We are the top ethanol producing state in the nation.

The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA’s) commissioned a report detailing the impact of renewable fuels on Iowa’s economy. IRFA’s Monte Shaw tells us this impact isn’t just fuels, but much more.

Shaw says these numbers should be much higher. However, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) hasn’t done the ethanol industry many favors.

Shaw says he feels the EPA remembers President Trump’s commitment to the ethanol industry a little differently than he does.
