Iowa State University names Joe Colletti interim dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS).
Joe Colletti will assume Wendy Wintersteen’s duties, effective November 20. Wintersteen was recently selected as Iowa State’s 16th president. Wintersteen says, “Colletti will maintain the strong momentum in the College of Agriculture and Life Science’s academic and research programs, and work with stakeholders both on and off campus to share Iowa State University’s expertise with the world.”
Colletti joined Iowa State in 1978. He holds a bachelor’s in forestry from Humboldt State University in California, and a master’s and doctorate in forest economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was appointed senior associate dean in 2006 after serving as interim chair of the Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management from 2004-2005.
A national search for the next permanent dean will be launched in the coming weeks.
