United States soybean growers are going to receive about 83 cents per bushel for the fall harvest of their crop.

The payment from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is for damage caused by Chinese tariffs imposed on United States soybeans after the President placed a tariff on Chinese goods coming into the United States.

Kirk Leeds is executive director of the Iowa Soybean Association (ISA). Leeds has traveled to China many times, to promote U.S. soybeans and knows the Chinese government and culture very well.

Leeds has an informed view on Chinese reaction to the tariffs and their resistance to agreeing to U.S. demands. Ken Root spoke to him at the Farm Progress Show yesterday.
