Iowa Soybean Association (ISA) Director Morey Hill of Madrid is confirmed as a new member of the American Soybean Association?s (ASA) World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (WISHH). Hill, along with ISA Director Tim Bardole and soybean growers from ten other states, serves on the WISHH Program Committee that guides WISHH?s trade and development work in countries located in Asia, Africa, and Central America.
?Visionary Iowa soybean growers were instrumental in creating WISHH in 2000,? said WISHH Executive Director Liz Hare. ?With strong farmer leadership, WISHH will continue to grow and reach more customers for U.S. soy.?
Hill has a diversified farm in central Iowa and serves as an ISA Director for District 5.
?I have been impressed with the dedication that committee members show toward raising the nutrition standards in developing countries,? said Hill. ?By teaching and showing developing nations what can be done to improve human health, we are building relationships.?
As a trailblazer for trade, WISHH grows markets for U.S. soy farmers, and at the same time improves lives and economic opportunities in developing countries. These buyers invest thousands of their own dollars to research and promote soy-based foods and feed made with U.S. soy in emerging markets. Over the last five years, WISHH leveraged soybean farmer checkoff investments by a ratio of more than 6-1.
