Iowa Soybean Association reacts to Trump tariffs

President Trump gave the green light to $50 Billion in tariffs against China on Friday. Beijing promised to retaliate, and that means agriculture products.

Iowa Soybean association President Bill Shipley said in the past few weeks we went from optimism in trade, to angst. He reminds us the price of beans dropped a dollar in the last week.

Shipley says China?s use of tariffs on food products is going to hurt their population in the long run.

Shipley said farmers cannot sustain long with prices below the break-even point.
