Rod Leman is a pork producer from Fort Dodge. His family has a legacy in the pork industry. His uncle was a Tyson executive and his father was a veterinarian at the University of Minnesota. Leman is doing his part to live up to that legacy.

The Pork Leadership Institute is a joint effort of the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) and the National Pork Board. It helps identify and train the next leaders of the pork industry and gives them the tools to be advocates on the state and federal levels.

Leman says one of the highlights was going on a trade trip to Bogata, Colombia.

Leman said the trip was eye-opening and gave him a new appreciation for Ag production in the U.S.
