Iowa cattle grazers to meet in Ames Thursday and Friday

The Iowa Forage and Grassland Conference begins at 12:15p.m. Thursday at the Iowa State University Alumni Center in Ames. It will conclude Friday at noon.

According to iowaforage.org, topics include multi-species grazing, the impact of grazing on soil health, new technologies in grazing, a new genetic test to identify fescue tolerance of beef cattle, pasture renovation strategies and managing the nutritional needs of beef and sheep.

The conference also will feature two producer panels on extended grazing and grazing management experiences and break-out presentations on beef and sheep forage nutrition and mineral nutrition.
