The Iowa Farmers Union and Iowa Organic’s Association hosted a field day outside of Polk City. It was chance for farmers to come and learn about organic options and conservation practices.
Tuesday’s field day was at the Aaron and Nicole Lehman farm. Aaron Lehman talks about the transition the farm is making from conventional to organic farming.
Lehman also says having their farm as a combination of organic and conventional practices has given them an opportunity to learn which practices from each mode of farming can be adapted to the other.
Iowa Organic’s Association Executive Director Rosalyn Lehman says they are there to help farmers make the transition to organic farming easier.
