The United States and Colombia have had a free trade agreement since 2012. There has been and continues to be, growth in the pork and beef markets there. Now, an Iowan is going to assume a role to help the market increase.

Don Mason, who farmed in Northwest Iowa and served on the Iowa Corn Growers Association Board for 16 years, is now the newest project specialist in Colombia for the US Meat Export Federation. Mason has experience in Colombia from his past.

Mason says Colombia is a growing consumer market.
