Iowa’s egg producers are asking Iowans to help find Iowa’s Most Egg-cellent Omelet! The Iowa Egg Council is encouraging you to get out and explore Iowa’s restaurants and nominate your favorite omelet. It can be fancy, simple, or good ol’ down-home cooking!
Iowa’s Most Egg-cellent Omelet contest officially kicks off March 10, 2020. All nominations must be received at the Iowa Egg Council office by 5 p.m. on May 1, 2020.
In order to recognize these egg-cellent omelets, the Iowa Egg Council is asking Iowans to nominate their favorite omelet from an Iowa restaurant. The nominations can be made by mail, or email only. Details about the contest, rules, and nomination forms are available on the Iowa Egg Council website www.iowaegg.org. Photos of your favorite omelet can be shared socially using #IAEggcellentOmelet.
The nomination period ends May 1, 2020. The top 10 restaurants with the most votes are eligible for the title of Iowa’s Most Egg-cellent Omelet. The top ten finalists will be announced on May 8th. Finalists will receive a gift package and will be eligible for the secret taste-test of contest judges. The winner will receive a certificate stating their restaurant serves Iowa’s Most Egg-cellent Omelet. The 2020 Most Egg-cellent Omelet in Iowa will be announced on Wednesday, June 3 in celebration of National Egg Day.
