Iowa crops able to withstand drought stress in 2022

As harvest wraps up around the state for 2022 it is a good time to review the growing season and how crops performed this year.

In Iowa the western part of the state dealt with drought stress throughout the growing season but Matthew Nelson, Channel Seed Agronomist, says that yield numbers were often times still positive despite the lack of moisture.

Nelson says that soybean yields in Iowa were better in most cases than he was expecting.

Matthew Nelson says that while you can never predict the future as a farmer, a good way to make general plans for the next growing season is to study three year data.
