Iowa Cattlemen?s BeefMeets educate producers across the state

by | May 27, 2021 | 5 Ag Stories, News

No matter how long you have been doing something, there is always an opportunity to learn how to do it better. There are always new challenges to overcome and ideas to share. That is why the Iowa Cattlemen?s Association is hosting its BeefMeets during June. It will be a chance for cattle producers around the state to learn some new techniques and talk about the issues they are facing.

Long-time Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network broadcaster Anna Hastert is now the Communications Director for the Iowa Cattlemen?s Association. She tells about the dates and locations for the four BeefMeets being held.

Hastert talks about what each BeefMeet will entail. There will be a meal served, trade show, and educational sessions with both the Iowa Cattlemen and the Iowa Beef Industry Council. The highlight of the evening is the policy breakout sessions. This is a chance for producers to hear what is going on regarding policy and bring up their concerns as well.

During these policy discussions, Hastert expects the price disparity between live cattle and boxed beef prices to be a hot topic. She also expects to hear about the new administration and sustainability. Climate and Sustainability will be the main focus of this year?s meets.

Again, the meetings will be held:
