During the Iowa Beef Expo, I had the chance to talk with Casey Allison of the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association. We talked about what has been on the minds of cattle producers she was talking to at the week-long show on the State Fairgrounds.

When you walk into the state fair cattle barn, this week, for the Iowa Beef Expo, you will come right to the Iowa Cattlemen’s Booth. There they have a list of the average auction prices for the show, a big bowl of peanuts, and people who want to discuss the cattle industry with you. Casey Allison of the Cattlemen’s Association tells us what things producers have been discussing this week.

Allison says it is a good time to connect with producers about legislative issues, such as taxes and “fake meat.” Allison reminds producers the Cattlemen’s Association is there to communicate your concerns back to the Congress and the state legislature.
