AMES, IA ? The Iowa Beef Industry Council (IBIC) is inviting consumers and beef producers to explore their new website, launched in late May. The new website has been designed to emphasize all things beef from recipes to cooking tips. Created with user-experience in mind, the new website is compatible with today?s web browsers and mobile devices.

?We focused on the information visitors wanted for this new website,? states Brooke German, Director of Marketing for the IBIC. ?We analyzed the data of our old website to see what information our visitors were viewing, and designed the new website with that data in mind. Our prime rib information is the most viewed content throughout the year, we made sure that information is easy to find at all times.?

The website includes information for Family and Consumer Science teachers as well as elementary educators to utilize beef information in their classrooms. A page has also been added dedicated to Iowa?s beef producers with information about Iowa?s Beef Checkoff Program and Beef Quality Assurance Program.

German adds, ?We added a virtual store, where visitors can view available merchandise as well as place an order for merchandise and beef certificates.?

Visitors can stay informed on the latest news and events such as the Iowa?s Best Burger Contest and the Governor?s Charity Steer Show. Information and statistics on Iowa?s cattle industry and the U.S. cattle industry are also readily available.

?Knowing that consumers are looking for information online, it is important that we have a website with the information they are seeking and a site that fits their needs,? adds German.

IBIC plans to launch farmer profile videos on the website later this year to help tell the beef story from pasture to plate. Visit www.iabeef.org to view the new and improved website.
