An agricultural company helps farmers sustainably increase productivity with digital tools.

Clint Chaffer serves as director of product marketing for Climate FieldView. Climate FieldView, owned by The Climate Corporation, is an integrated digital tool, providing farmers with a deeper understanding of their fields.

Chaffer says Climate FieldView helps farmers increase productivity through digital. He talks about new technologies adopted by Climate FieldView, designed to help growers enhance on-farm production, especially during tough economic times.

?One of the products we have, going into planting season, is our Advanced Seeding product. That allows farmers to create a variable rate seeding prescription, use the science behind tested hybrids and then create zones based off of yield maps, or imagery. What we end up seeing is – those folks that used advanced seeding over do it yourself seeding or manual prescriptions actually had an uptick of about 5 bushel per acre last season,? Chaffer said.

Chaffer says Climate FieldView technology focuses on optimizing every input. He says growers must first focus on selecting the right hybrids.

?One tool they can use is our yield analysis tool and field region report to see how the hybrid did last year and optimize placing those hybrids. It?s really selecting the right hybrids in each one of the fields, entering those hybrid names into their hybrid monitor and our cab app, and then creating those seeding prescriptions ahead of time,? Chaffer said.

Chaffer encourage growers to use Climate FieldView?s advanced seed solution and nitrogen monitoring tool after hybrid selection.

?Both of those can gain productivity in each field,? Chaffer said. ?Farmers who used nitrogen monitoring by zone and variable rate seeding would have seen an increase of $12 per acre. Partner that up with our 5 bushel increase on our Advanced Seeding solution, and those farmers can start to see a good return.?
