Starting next week, farmers will begin seeing ballots coming into their mailboxes. No, it isn?t the Presidential elections, we still have a year or so of campaign ads. It is the ballots for you to select the members to your Farm Service Agency (FSA) county committees.

FSA State Director Amanda De Jong describes the importance for civilians to be serving on this government agency board.

Ballots must be returned to your local FSA county office or postmarked by December 2nd. If you do not receive a ballot, contact your county office to get a replacement ballot.

With harvest being a priority, Director De Jong also reminds producers there is still a little time to sign up for the second round of Market Facilitation Program (MFP) payments. The deadline to sign up is coming up on December 6th. There are a handful of Iowa producers who have yet to sign up.

If you have any questions, contact your county FSA office.
