As the 2019 growing season gets closer, the time has come to renew your dicamba training certification. Part of this process is the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) setting up the training criteria for this year. This has been done.

As part of the rules set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), individual states must set the training criteria for dicamba usage.

Some states use this to set their own restrictions for the chemical?s use. Secretary Naig says they prefer to use the EPA guidelines. Naig says if the EPA decides to add more restrictions, Iowa will be happy to comply.

Secretary Naig says the training program has paid off in Iowa. Drift complaints were cut almost in half.
