We are now into the single-digit countdown to the Iowa State Fair. Of course, nobody is more excited about this than our own Riley Smith. He has already mapped out what food he is planning to eat and when, and that includes when he is there outside of work hours.
But, going beyond the food, there is so much to our state fair. It is what Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig calls the “Super Bowl of Iowa Agriculture.” It is a time when we celebrate the accomplishments of our producers, commodity groups, and the young people who work so hard on their projects and livestock showing.
The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) is always front and center, paying tribute to the farmers who have worked so hard to better agriculture in our state.
Secretary Naig talks about what he is looking forward to, and what IDALS will have going on at the Iowa State Fair.
