A senior policy advisor for the Iowa Corn Growers Association has been appointed as next Farm Service Agency State Director for Iowa.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced Friday that Amanda DeJong will serve as FSA State Director.

?On behalf of Iowa?s corn farmers, I would like to congratulate Amanda DeJong on her appointment,? ICGA President Mark Recker says.

She joined Iowa Corn in 2011.

?DeJong has been a key team member working on behalf of Iowa Corn Growers Association members on the Farm Bill, crop insurance, the Renewable Fuels Standard and trade.?

FSA State Directors help implement U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) policies in planning, organizing, and administering FSA programs in their respective states. They are also responsible for running the day-to-day activities of the state FSA office.
