Hurricane damages Louisiana sugar cane

This is not a bad news story. Just a report from a Louisiana farm broadcaster on how much damage the hurricane did to sugar cane in the far southern parish of Iberia, where Hurricane Barry made landfall.

Area sugarcane farmer Ricky Gonsoulin says Hurricane Barry will cause him to lose some growth time for the current crop, but his largest concern now is getting next year?s crop in the ground, as sugarcane is a two-year crop.
