Pork producers are always trying to new ways to improve the safety of their animals and maintaining their health. As hogs approach their market sizes, they enter an aggressive stage which is usually accompanied by tail biting. Now, Hubbard Feeds has a new product to give hogs a healthy alternative when they have those tendencies.

Lori Stevermer is with Hubbard Feeds, and she tells about a new product called AllBite. This product allows hogs to work out these aggressive behaviors they have without injuring other hogs. Not only does it help deter tail-biting behavior, but it also provides another source of nutrition to the hogs.

Stevermer says that it has also been helpful for gilts during pen gestational acclimation.

Tail-biting can also be a seasonal behavior issue. Stevermer says that at around one dollar per head, AllBite is a cost-effective way to combat these behaviors.
