How much improvement will Ag see in 2019?

Nobody was more excited than farmers to turn the calendar to 2019. Weather and trade were the top two headaches we faced. Now as we gear up for 2019, an Ag economist says there may be an only slight improvement for 2019.

Speaking at the 100th American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) convention in New Orleans, AFBF Chief Economist John Newton says we still have many factors putting pressure on agriculture.

One of those negative aspects of 2018 came right along with us into 2019. Newton says trade issues are going to keep bringing uncertainty with them as long as we have these question marks in our export markets.

Newton says not to let trade lead you to despair. There is certainly room for improvement. However, trade disputes do not last forever. Eventually, we will start moving products again.

There is light at the end of these tunnels. How far away the light is, is yet to be determined. All we can do is just keep moving towards it.
