As Bill Northey moves to lead national conservation efforts, a major agricultural retailer joins a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) agency to test environmental safeguards and sustain crop production in Iowa.
GROWMARK recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Tim Berkland serves as strategic agronomy marketing manager for GROWMARK and covers Iowa, Wisconsin and parts of Illinois.
Berkland says the first step in moving Nutrient Reduction Strategy goals is to train agronomists at FS dealerships across the state.
