Farmers gathered in Grinnell to get a sense for the future of agriculture. The third annual Central Iowa Ag Summit happened Thursday. Former USDA State Director for Rural Development Bill Menner emceed the event.

?We have a day where we have 100 farmers from central Iowa to get a snapshot. (They) hear about federal programs, marketing, succession planning and talking about the future of agriculture,? Menner.

He says at the end of the day, farmers are successful functioning businesses.

?Whether you are marketing your business, planning, or trying to improve your bottom line, this is the best time of year to do it,? Menner says.
