On the future of the United States – Mexico – Canada Agreement, Grassley says he is still waiting on a timeline for its movement through Congress. The Senator said the legislative language is still being ironed out.
The Senator also voiced concerns about the funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program during the government shutdown. The Senator was pleased the program is funded for February, but he was adamant funding better be secured if this drags into March. He cited an old wives tale about being, “only nine meals away from a revolution.”
