Grassley remarks on Farm Bill as talks wind down

In the past few days reports have come out saying we are close to an agreement on the Farm Bill. The conference committee must finish ironing it out, but we could see it done after the Thanksgiving break.

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley acknowledged the end is in sight for a 2018 Farm Bill. Even though he is not on the conference committee, he repeated his call for subsidy reforms.

Grassley reiterated his reasoning for wanting these reforms.

Grassley could not confirm reports of the House giving up work requirements to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), because he isn?t on the conference committee. However, he did say there were still some negotiations to iron out, and the hope was it could be done very soon.
