During his weekly conference call with ag broadcasters and reporters on Tuesday United States Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa (R-IA) was asked for an update on talks between U.S. and Mexican officials regarding the Mexican GMO corn ban. Grassley says there has not been as much progress in talks as he had hoped for at this point.
Grassley says that while the dispute resolution system has been put into action, he thinks the process should be further along at this point.
He says the process for dispute resolution needs to become serious now after the initial phase of the process began about a month ago.
Senator Grassley was also asked to list his priorities for the farm bill and what he will be advocating for during the process.
