The inauguration is over, and it is back to work in Washington. The Congress has a new look than we have had for the past few years with Democrats controlling both chambers. However, in the Senate, it is a 50/50 advantage with Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris holding the deciding vote in any tie. Senior Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley weighed in on his willingness to work with the new Biden Administration and his concerns about what needs to happen for agriculture in Iowa.

Senator Chuck Grassley commented that the spectacle of the inauguration is now over. He is willing to get to work with President Biden for the good of his constituents.

Grassley said he is going to be active in restoring integrity to the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) and certainty to the biofuels industry. He said there is a lot of work to be done from the past two administrations. He intends to hold the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) accountable to the RFS, and the letter of the law. He called the last-minute attempts by the Trump EPA to grant three more small refinery exemptions a ?disgrace to the biofuels industry.?

Grassley said he also looks forward to working with President Biden on other ?bipartisan areas? on trade partnerships and urges the new Administration to also stay out of a few areas such as the controversial Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule.

Grassley added that he commends President Biden for saying he would be a President for all Americans. Grassley said that Rural America needs is as much as any other part of the United States.
