There is no doubt about it, Friday is going to be an impactful day in agriculture. The Trump administration has vowed to level tariffs against China. China has vowed to retaliate.
Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley has been back in Iowa this week. As he has taken the time to meet with constituents, he says there has been one common thread.
Grassley says the administration needs to “tread lightly.” He says farmers are facing significant losses.
Senator Grassley feels there needs to be a review of the powers the President has in levying tariffs.
If you are holding out any hopes tariffs can be avoided, and common ground be found, Grassley says not to expect it to come from our side.
