Six days until the Iowa Caucus and Governor Terry Branstad hopes voters will stand with renewable fuels. During his weekly press conference, Governor Branstad received several questions related to his comments about wanting Ted Cruz defeated in the Iowa Caucus. Now a Ted Cruz Super Pac is running attacks on the Governor.

Branstad says the only people he stands behind are Iowans.

?Listen my constituency are the people of Iowa. The farmers, the people who work for all these renewable fuel plants who make parts for wind energy and I am proud to stand for the people of Iowa. I think they recognize that these are false attacks who want to score points with certain people by attacking me,? Branstad says.

He says renewable fuels are critical to Iowa?s economy.

?All of those jobs at the ethanol plants, biodiesel plants, the people who are working to make wind turbines, blades and towers and the farmers who are getting income from selling their corn to ethanol plants and buying DDGs to feed their cattle. This is important to our state?s economy and I want to make sure the voters of Iowa are knowledgeable and well-informed on all of the candidates and vote in those caucuses because it is critical to our economy,? Branstad says.

Branstad says his job as governor is the stand up for issues important to Iowa. He says farm income and jobs are among those.
