God on the Witness Stand

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. -Hebrews 4:13

The other night Harold was trying to convince me that what he was saying was truthful.

I wasn’t sure I believed him. His rebuttal was, “God as my witness.”

That sentence caught my attention. I hear people say that all the time to explain that what they are saying is valid.

The truth is, God is always your witness.

He is always on the witness stand. He see’s, hears, and knows everything you do….always.

He is always the onlooker, eyewitness, spectator, and viewer.

Honestly, this can kind of be a terrifying thought. There are times I say things that don’t represent him, or times that I react in a way that he wouldn’t. Those are the times I wish He wasn’t an eyewitness to my behavior.

However, whether we like it or not God is always watching.

Is what you’re doing, what you’re saying, and how you’re acting representing who you are in Him?

Prayer: “God, thank you for knowing me so well that you don’t miss a single thing in my life. Thank you that you hold me accountable to be the best me that I can be. In your name I pray, Amen.”
