The World Food Prize was last week in Des Moines. It was a chance to look at the role global agriculture will play in combatting hunger around the world in the future.
CGIAR has been at the forefront of food research ever since the days of Dr. Norman Bourlag. Executive Director Elwyn Grainger-Jones says the old mission was to provide enough food to a growing population. Now, the challenges are much different, and nowhere near as simple.
Grainger-Jones says with a multitude of new challenges comes a multitude of new solutions.
