By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. -Genesis 2:2
I love sleep, I always have and I always will.
I also love being busy, I always have been and I’m sure I always will be.
Sometimes however, I think I find myself getting lost in the busyness.
It’s easy to confuse a lot of activity with a purposeful life.
Too often we are running to activities and events in place of resting and relaxing.
Lately, I have been reminded that God found the importance in rest. After He created the world, He rested.
The Lord saw the vital need for resting, and so must you and I.
Get some rest. Rest is holy.
Prayer: “God, thank you for showing me the importance of rest. Help me to take time to rejuvenate. In your name I pray, Amen.”
