Women farmland owners have the potential to transform Iowa?s landscape and farm communities in significant and positive ways, given that Women own or co-own nearly half of Iowa?s farmland.

Iowa County Women, Land and Legacy have partnered with Iowa Land Sales & Farm Management to provide information to women who want to learn more about caring for and passing on the land.

The Fifth Annual Iowa Women?s Landowner Conference is targeting the educational needs of women in Iowa, focusing on their empowerment and encouraging local relationships.

The conference will be held on Thursday, June 22nd at the Michael J. Manatt Community Center in Brooklyn, Iowa. The conference is open to everyone, but is specifically tailored to women.

Registration begins at 7:30 am. Various speakers are scheduled throughout the day, concluding around 3:30 pm. The conference fee is $30. Breakfast, snacks, lunch, handouts and door prizes are all provided.

The 2017 agenda will feature Marji Guyler-Alaniz, president and founder of FarmHer.
Finance Authority will present on beginning tax programs and the benefit they provide Iowa landowners. The afternoon session will highlight Estate Planning & Trusts, the Great Debate. Mike Pearson, host of IPTVs Market to Market, will be the Master of Ceremonies injecting humor and engaging the audience with his local charm.

A participant from last year?s conference said,? The conference had great presenters and great facilities! I encourage all women connected to Ag, not just farm owners, to attend as well.”

The goal is to educate and motivate attendees to take action on their own situations.
