A new state audit report says more than $20,000 from FFA fruit sale fundraiser either wasn’t collected or deposited into the Maquoketa, Iowa FFA program.

According to the Associated Press, the report from the Iowa auditor’s office says the audit covered July 1, 2011, through June 30 this year.

Auditors say deposits varied greatly from estimated sales. Money raised goes to help cover Maquoketa district FFA travel and rooming costs for conventions.

Jackson County Attorney Sara Davenport said Tuesday she hadn’t seen the audit report yet. and law enforcement haven’t called her yet either.
