As farmers are busy preparing for spring planting, our state legislators are busy working on ag policies. Iowa 4th District Congressman Randy Feenstra talked about what he?s been working on in his office, from this year?s farm bill to WOTUS.
When talking with producers in his area, Feenstra said there?s a lot of desire to focus on insurance and input costs, and he?s even heard some discussion on conservation programs.
With WOTUS, the main issue is with the definition of the word ?navigable.? Feenstra said the definition needs to be specific, because there are many creeks on crop acres across the state that would fall under that umbrella while not truly being navigable.
