COVID-19 has altered how companies do business.

Farmers Business Network, for example, sent its employees to work from home in early March. The company continues to serve its farmer members during the challenging, but critically important time.

Farmers Business Network added more farms to its network in March than anytime in the company?s six-year history, shares Charles Baron, co-founder of Farmers Business Network (FBN). Baron attributes such an increase to savings passed on to its farmer members.

?Farmers have come to know us (for) looking after their interest and looking out for their economics,” Baron said. ?We?re not just issuing platitudes and thanking growers for everything they do. We?re making sure that we?re right with them, passing on as much of the economic benefit as we possibly can.”

Farmers Business Network this week announced two major initiatives, one which further enhances price transparency.

?Farmers have known FBN as providing bulk, flat pricing around the country,? Baron said. ?It doesn?t matter how large your farm is or how much you buy, you can get access to the same pricing on FBN. Secondly, how farmers can see what other growers are paying, so they can understand what a fair market is. We?ve now made all the prices we have public, so all farmers can see them and can get the most leverage in the market.?

Farmers Business Network hopes to pass down additional savings through its first-ever Cyber Summer Sale, which features over 200 discounted products.

?We?ve reduced prices dramatically on over 200 products that are going to be needed in-season. Farmers may also want to stock up for next year. In some cases, prices have been reduced up to 27-percent on crop protection (products). There are substantial saving available,” Baron said.
